In this video, "Landscape Architecture Class" will be taking a look at the life and work of one of the most influential landscape architects of all time, and exploring the impact of his designs on the modern world. 

Frederick Law Olmsted was born in 1822, and went on to become one of the most famous and influential landscape architects of his time. He is best known for his work on Central Park in New York City, which he designed in collaboration with architect Calvert Vaux. 

Olmsted's designs were groundbreaking in several ways. He was one of the first landscape architects to incorporate naturalistic and environmentally-friendly elements into his designs, creating parks and landscapes that blended seamlessly with their surroundings. He also introduced the concept of parkways that were designed to provide drivers with beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes.
